The Rejuvenating Power of Tai Chi Chuan for Health and Vitality
Continued from the article: "How to Stay Young and Healthy"
When I was 17 years old, I visited Hong Kong, Shanghai, Taiwan, and other Chinese-occupied territories, and there I saw elders with healthy looks practicing Tai Chi.
I stayed in China for over eight years but I never realized the useful meaning of Tai Chi until I grew old. I was in doubt with the very slow exercise movements and had no interest in it at all. I'm sure what you are thinking about Tai Chi is what I thought when I first saw hundreds of people from young to old doing Tai Chi outside the window of my hotel room several decades ago.
Tai Chi is a wisdom of God, just like the PYRO-ENERGEN technology. The concept of Tai Chi actually existed thousands of years ago, and it was formulated by a Taoist monk, Zhang Sanfeng in the 12th century. The PYRO-ENERGEN technology was formulated in 1968 by me.

Is Tai Chi better than vigorous exercise?
Yoga or Zen Buddhism may be a better meditation exercise for mental health. But what can Tai Chi's slow movements do to our physical as well as mental health? Why not just do jogging, gymnastics, and weightlifting?
I tried to study Tai Chi with my doctor friends and staffs and of course with Tai Chi historians including Tai Chi practitioners using several sophisticated clinical devices. Finally, we discovered some fascinating results.
We know that jogging, weightlifting, and other complex physical exercises reduce excess fat, and increase muscle strength. We thought that only these vigorous and fast-paced aerobatic workouts will keep your body slim, such as those found in fitness studios where complicated expensive machines are used like the photos below.
However, our studies show that these machines are just for those who need extra strength, muscle, and physical appearance. These bodybuilding machines are not really for good health and mind, and are not made for common people. Also, stay away from Electro-Muscle Stimulation (EMS) devices. You can safely consider these a medical fraud and scam that are usually advertised with the promise of "six-pack abs" without exercise. We do not believe that, and our clinical studies do not show positive result.
Our PYRO-ENERGEN group tried to analyze the effect of Tai Chi movements to our health. We prepared all necessary measuring equipments such as for checking the flow of blood, size of muscle, amount of fat, burned energy or calorie, flow of body fluid, body weight and size, blood pressure, body temperature, growth of hormone, oxygen and sugar amount in the blood, function of the brain and brain wave including CAT scan.
What are the results? The slow movement of Tai Chi does all what you need in exercise! In other words, Tai Chi contains all you need in bodybuilding to maintain good health and mind, which we had never expected.
Because of Tai Chi, we are deeply encouraged to study more about traditional healing of ancient Egyptians, gypsy folk medicine, Indian yoga and its traditional healing techniques, and other ancient Oriental healing techniques. Later we found a lot of useful but forgotten medical technologies. We realized that most modern medicines are really facing to distort our health for which we have to face back the way our ancestors endorsed to their children.
Of course, it is not only Tai Chi that can keep you young and healthy. There are hundreds of other methods available. Most people think that a healthy body is like that of a muscular man that symbolizes a healthy man, which is not right. A healthy body should not only be by physical appearance but also with right spiritual mind!
We have been posting several articles about simple exercises that keep your body and mind healthy, which you can also see in the previous article "How to Stay Young and Healthy"
Now, is it necessary to do jogging and weightlifting to maintain good health? There might be an easier way like riding a bicycle. I remember when I was in China, most Tai Chi practitioners are in good shape regardless of their ages. We seldom see them with belly fat, so we decided to undergo clinical test with a few volunteers from Tai Chi practitioners, and our medical group joined closely.
Can Tai Chi help elders walk with confidence?
First of all, what is the division of life and death? The answer is muscle. Yes, it is true that muscle does practically all function of our body systems. Just by standing still with two feet, the muscle works for that purpose. To talk and eat is also a muscle function.
Everybody knows that muscle gets weaker with age, and you cannot escape from it. However, there may be a way to slow it down by means of a simple method or exercise. That's what we've found with Tai Chi movements. You might no longer need to use cane or walking stick, and you may even lose your weight.
After our clinical test, we understood that it is the brain signals that control the body functions and muscles. Also, it is our body movements or function that controls the brain wave and amount of growth hormone.
From our ten 75 to 80-year-old volunteers who use cane, none of them can stand with a foot even for a second. We requested them to imitate the simple movement of Tai Chi, even just a part of it. Amazingly, when they have completed the trial for 30 days, none of them needed cane. The muscles in their feet and thighs had stiffened. Not only that, at least five of them can stand with one foot for 1–3 seconds, improving their flexibility and balance. Many of their physical and mental functions improved dramatically. On top of that, they can now carry and lift heavy objects compared to before they began Tai Chi.
From these studies, I, and the PYRO-ENERGEN group realized again that it is not only vigorous exercises that build muscle and keep the brain healthy and strong. Yes, we understand that certain slow movements can keep our body young and healthy by sending signals to the brain to stabilize the flow of body fluid, blood pressure, body pH, and producing growth hormone that stimulates growth and cell reproduction.
Now, I am 72 years old. I am an old man. But I can make my body healthier and young again. Why don't you do Tai Chi with me? You may not need cane anymore.
